December...

I feel like the last few months have been really hard for me to keep up on my blog.  I don't want that to become a habit.  So, I will try harder to keep the posts coming because I would like to keep this record (blog) of my life as well as include my quilting life.  So, bare with me as I add a few more posts that aren't just quilting.
This is my tree in our entry, I had so much fun putting it up with my kids.  They were with me the whole time and I taught them how to move the ornaments around and make it pretty.  I am a little OCD about ornament placement, but I decided that fun memories with my kids are better than having the perfect tree.  Still, I think it looks pretty good.
December has been such a blur - all the days have been meshed into one it seems.  But, thankfully we have had incredible and unlikely weather for St. George.  So, movies and being cozy inside has been so great.  Looking at Christmas lights always makes me happy.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know I have a total obsession with clouds - so these winter clouds are so beautiful.  The blue skies are amazing.

I have sat at this table signing and packaging books and have gone to the post office back and forth for the past week.  It has been crazy, but I am so grateful.  I hope to have the rest of your orders out today and tomorrow, so thank you for your patience with me.

On Saturday night we had a record breaking 6 inches of snow fall on our desert city of Saint George, the kids were in heaven and I have to admit that I felt like a kid again as we played in the snow together.  I cherish these moments with my kids, I hope they know that.

I hope your December is going great.  I hope to catch up with a little quilting before the week of Christmas.  I will keep you posted.

Now that is an awesome tree!! Is it real? Me too want to have my way with the placing of ornaments (and what ornaments to put there) but the last 5 years decided to let go and leave the whole thing to The DH and the kids ;-) Now when they are almost grown up, we have decided not to have a tree at all. Live well. Waiting for your book to land in my mailbox.

Beautiful tree. My kids can't seem to leave the ornaments alone and they all end up migrating to the bottom of the tree. :)

I belong to three on-line quilting groups, Judi, and the buzz in all three has been all about your book - how much they love it, how much they looked forward to it, and how much they are already using it. I've read 60 or 70 posts about it in the last week. If we're a microcosm of the success of your book so far, you'd better call the publisher and have them start the presses. You're gonna be out of books soon!

It is a great book and I must admit I enjoyed following the lows and highs of getting it published. I remember when the first publisher returned it. I'll bet they're smacking their own foreheads now!

Hi Judi! Your tree is definitely gorgeous. I remember when we used to decorate ours with only the "Special" ornaments the girls had made in school. We still have the box of ornaments, but oh my gosh how we laugh as we pull them out and look at them. I cherish each and every one of them, but even I have to admit that some of them are...well...should I say 'extra special', LOL. My girls had no artistic talent back then, but they acquired some as their interest in needlework grew when they were older. As for your snow I thought of your sweet family every time I've watched the weather since this cold blast rolled in. I was thinking you would be out in that snow, the kids eyes as big as saucers with grins to match! I was completely stunned today though, when they said the temperature there was 10 degrees, just 2 degrees warmer than we are down here near Ogden. I don't know if that is record cold for your beautiful city, I missed that part of the weather, but I know it's REALLY cold for you. Congratulations again on your wonderful book, a while back, I told my sis in law, a custom long arm quilter of more than 15 years, to go to your website and check it out. She immediately emailed me back and said she hadn't bought a quilting book in years, but she was ordering a copy of yours, because your quilting was completely amazing and she thought even a seasoned quilter like her just might learn a thing or two from you. She doesn't visit blogs, but she has started checking yours when she can, to look at the magic you work. Way to go Judi! Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas. Try to stay warm! Hugs...

I can't believe how excited I am to get your book. The wait has been just like when I was a kid waiting for Christmas morning. Yikes.

It is hard to keep up with blogging with the holidays underway, but especially with your new book out! As for the tree, I am SO ocd about it - I let my littles help for a bit one evening, then tucked them into bed and rearranged a bunch of them : P
