This quilt was for Danielle's son - he's off to college and she wanted a custom quilting job for this special quilt. I learned a few things about this quilt - I had to change out my needle and use a size 16 instead of the size 18 that I always use, and I couldn't quilt every block with as much detail as I wanted because some of the t-shirt graphics were more "gummy" if that's the right word. Anyway - it was fun - I am pleased with how it turned out.

What a wonderful treasure to take away to college! As always, the quilting really makes it!

Very nice job Judi...I've done quite a few tshirt quilts; but by hand...and they are too difficult to quilt by hand...I would quilt around the block and in the sashing and borders...and simply tie the tshirt...but I love this one done by machine....much nicer
Turned out wonderfully!!
But where are all the colours? Nice quilt anyway...
Great T quilt - like Marj, I also hand quilt them (use a leather thimble).
Nice job. I want to make a t-shirt pillow for my son for Christmas and wondered what you put on the back of the design to stablize it? I know it need something or it will stretch all out of shape. Thanks for any info.
I did several t-shirt quilts for my son when he graduated last year. Just yesterday he had his new room mate over to the house and they were packing up all of his stuff to move into his new apartment for his sophomore year.
His room mate started to pack Josh's quilt and Josh stopped him. "I'll use that tonight", he said, "leave it out, it can go in the car with me tomorrow."
I love the quilting you did on this. T-shirts are hard sometimes because of the printing. You did a good job of quilting enough without interfering with the prints on the shirts.

What a great job quilting this!! Danielle is in my MQG, so I've seen this quilt in stages, but it's great to see it quilted. I doubt we'll get to see it in real life since she's taking her son to college during our next meeting. Bummer. :)
I'm glad to know you had to change your needle, though. I'm going to be making one, and this is handy info to store away. :)
Great job, by the way. I know Danielle and her son both love it.
fantastic job!! well done :)
The quilting is perfect for this quilt! Oh, and just as a side note (because I don't know if you did this or not Judi), if anyone is quilting a t-shirt quilt, be sure to use a ballpoint needle.
