Merry Christmas!

Believe it or not, this is the best picture I got of my three kids sitting together in their new Grandma jammies. They went nuts when they opened their jammies, Mom - you did awesome! I just wanted to wish everyone out there in blog world "Merry Christmas!" I hope your day is special and you get to cherish your time with the ones you love! Now, the kids are in bed and Santa is fast approaching, so I better get wrapping!

Take care!

Oh, and Jonah is still on the binki! Aggh! We had to give it to him to get him to hold still for two seconds for a picture. I will let him have it until the New Year and then it's out!

I had fun with this one!

I just loved quilting this quilt for Beth. On this quilt I had fun with the applique, I have always stayed away from quilting inside appliques, but I am getting more comfortable with it now and it really adds to the quilt. One quilt done, one to go, or maybe I could give myself a break? I would feel completely guilty.

Almost ready for my Christmas break..........

Don't you just love these quilt colors? I do, but pink and green is my absolute favorite color combination. I did some flower swirls on this one. It's fun and it's a lot faster than custom work.

More pink and green! I love it. Oh, Brenda- your quilt is done, sorry I haven't called!

Here's some custom quilting for Kathy - I tried to call - twice! But I will hopefully see you Monday? Anyway, I love how this quilt turned out. This was a fun one to quilt because it was custom, but not overwhelmingly custom - does that make sense?

Another shot of this quilt! I love it. So, I was hoping to take the week off for Christmas, but I still have two quilts that I need to get done before we make a trip to see the family. Wish me luck on that!

Oh, my darling friend Emily has a blog, she just started one and you need to check it out. She's doing a cute giveaway, so go tell her I sent you over. You might recognize some of her quilts because I have quilted them for her.

My samples are now bedspreads!

I have had a lot of my samples sitting in my closet waiting for the next show and I am trying hard not get them dirty. So, when I looked at my samples and realized I have enough new stuff, I let the kids pick out the quilts they wanted for their beds. What good are quilts if they are never used, right? Lili has had my "Country Garden" on her bed for a while, but she was so excited when she was able to pick out a new one. She chose "Carrots and Peas." I had to clear out a lot of her stuffed animals to just show the quilt, but she loves her Mickey and Minnie and Raggedy Ann and Andy best, so I left them in the shot.

Grandma made Raggedy Ann and Andy for Lili, she just loves these. My mom (totally incredible) has made a set of these dolls for all of her granddaughters, all 15 of them, not to mention making Andy for her grandsons, 7 of them. She amazes me, and the kids are anxiously awaiting their Christmas jammies they get to open on Christmas Eve!

Micah chose "Sail Away" for his bed, he was so excited as we made the bed together. It's really fun to have my kids be excited about the quilts I have made. I hope they truly appreciate the love that has gone into making each quilt.

Here's Micah, I figured you might want to see his scar.

Time for another giveaway!!

In between quilting I have been able to put together two new patterns. It's all about flowers with these two new quilts and if I do say so myself, these two new patterns are my absolute favorite patterns so far! I love the quilts, they were so fun to put together and I am sure all of you will have just as much fun as I did putting them together.

"Garden Party" is so fun, I used fabric from "Bloom and Grow" by Riley Blake designs for this quilt. The orange, teals, and browns go perfect together. But I can see this quilt in a lot of color combinations.

"Flower Patch" is a super fun quilt. I used one jelly roll and one layer cake from the moda line "OZ" for this quilt, plus some background fabric. That makes it easy for picking out fabric for this quilt.

So, under my Christmas tree I have 1 layer cake, 1 jelly roll from the Hello Betty Retro line, along with my pattern "Flower Patch" and it is going to be a wonderful Christmas present to one lucky person. Giveaway time! All you have to do to enter my giveaway is leave a comment. That gives you one entry, blog about my giveaway and you will get five entries. I will draw a random winner on Tuesday night.

A couple things, for my blog friends I am offering my patterns at buy 1 get 1 free, which means you can get my two new patterns for the cost of one, or get four for the price of two and so on... you get the idea. You just have to mention it during checkout in the "additional info" box! And, a Christmas gift to you, get a free "the caroler" charm pack with any purchase over $10 on my website. Make sure you mention that you want it! Hurry fast because these offers are only good until Tuesday when I announce the winner of the layer cake, jelly roll and pattern! Good luck everyone!

Christmas comes early....

Today when I was making a smoothie for the family my blender was bleeding out the back and bottom and most of the shake ended up on the counter, I wish I got a picture of it. Totally pathetic, I was cursing the thing of course! Walmart $25 special about 2 years ago and it has had it. I have been wanting a new blender for a while now, and Clint has known it, but I made it perfectly clear that I didn't want a kitchen appliance for Christmas because that's totally lame! At least I am not a fan of getting kitchen appliances for Christmas because they usually remind me of the fact that I don't cook and everyone wants me to (well, Clint does). Anyway, my darling Clint surprised me with this "holy cow" incredible blender today. We tried out ice cream shakes tonight and the magical thing about this blender is that I just put in all the ingredients and pushed a button, 30 seconds later we had the perfect ice cream shake. I didn't even have to beat it and use a spoon to shove everything down to the blades! Ah ha! I am so happy, so Clint gave me this blender for Christmas, except not for Christmas because I gave him that clue! Finding out what he spent on this thing makes me not expect anything else for Christmas.

Muertos

I don't have to tell you that there is a lot going on with this quilt. It's a super fun quilt done by Emily and I had a lot of fun quilting it. I feel bad I haven't blogged about it until now, but you know, life is crazy and I am trying to get a lot done before Christmas so I can have a little bit of a holiday break.

There is so much going on and these picture only show a portion of the quilting involved in this quilt. It was really fun. Emily called it Muertos and the whole time I stood at the quilt and looked at it the movie "Undercover Blues" played in my head because Stanley Tucci plays a crazy criminal called "Muerte" and he insist on everyone knowing that "Muerte" means death. It's a really funny movie, so you should watch it! Anyway, there you go, I have been busy, but just slacking on the pictures. Sorry!

Drawing a blank.....

Life's good and crazy, don't have much to post right now. The boys are doing better, scars are going to be permanent, but at least it wasn't any worse that it was. We got the ER bill for Micah and I figure I am in the wrong profession because at $140.00 per stitch I would be sitting real pretty if I charged that much for my "stitching." But then again, I am quite sure no one would want to pay $2100.00 per 15 stitch run, that would be one pricey quilt.
I have been working on a super cool quilt done by Emily called Muertos, I will finish sometime tomorrow and will have pictures soon. I also have two new patterns in the works, can't wait to show you them. Have a great weekend everyone!
