On my mind.....

I finished another "secret project" this week.  I had a lot of fun quilting this particular quilt.  It was simpler quilting for me.  Funny, sometimes I crave simple, but then I miss the detail.  Goes to show that it's hard to be content with where you are at.  ;-)  I will work on that, the content part.

So, a couple things on my mind.  Do you remember the drama way back when I first started this whole book process?  In a nut shell, my editor left or was fired, they never let me know.  Then, when the book was supposed to come out they called me up and said, hey - we aren't doing your book.  Nice.

Thankfully, through some amazing support from all of you and some dear friends, I was lead to an amazing publishing company who took on my book idea.  Full force, here we come with the publishing date of August 2013.  Well, sad to say, that date is long gone with no book in hand and now I have people contacting me telling me that my book is selling on Amazon, so why haven't I shipped theirs out yet?  Well, I don't have it, and neither does Amazon.  We are still pre-selling my book, and so is Amazon.  Wouldn't you know it?  My executive book editor left the company mid book process.  Maybe it's me?  I don't know, I think I am supposed to learn patience.  I feel like I have been patient, but I am finding it more difficult because of all of you out there waiting just like me.  You have paid for a product that was supposed to come out two months ago.  I am so sorry about that.

Good news though, I have had several of you contact me telling me you have seen one of my book projects at AQS Quilt Week in Des Moines.  So, yes - the book is coming out, but with the changes in the company it is taking longer than anyone could have thought.  So, to sum it up, I don't have a release date.  I can't tell you when it will be out, but I can tell you it is close to the final process of being edited.  After that we will have to wait for the printer.  So, please be patient with me while I am being patient with them.  It really is just a hiccup in the process and I hope that it will all be worth it in the end.  I am sorry to all of you who have been waiting, but again - I am so thankful for your support.

If you haven't pre-ordered it yet and would like to, you can do that here.

There is absolutely no need for you to be sorry about things that are beyond your control!! I feel sorry for you and your poor book, being passed around between publishers incapable of proper management. I'll wait patiently for your book. It will certainly be worth waiting for!!

These things are outside of your control and we all know that. The wait is just going to make your book all the more wonderful and it is giving people like me, something to keep looking forward to. Don't give up - the best is yet to come.

For all of us, the wait must be the worst for you. I know that one day it will arrive on my doorstep, on the day I least expect, and it will make my day!

I am glad that a company has seen that you have a good book that people want and is trying to get it completed. Also hope that this is the only time this happens to you. Better luck in the future.

Oh, I am so sorry Judi, it is no fair that what should have been an amazing process filled with excitement around each corner has been a stressful and drawn out process. But know that we are all so excited for your book and can wait patiently along with you :) I know it will be worth the wait!

I'm sure it will be worth it and it will be a huge hit. Sometimes the very best things just take a little longer. Hang it there. They will be in your hands before you know it.

I too saw your quilt at AQS Desmoines this week!I got all excited and thought your book would be there but she said it wasn't out yet :-( I love how you ignore the piecing lines and make your design, I have to learn to do that :-)

I'm just so happy it's really happening for you! I'll be glad to get a copy whenever it does arrive. Think of it this way, coming out late it should get lots of attention at Market - with an August date they'd be off promoting other things instead :-)

I am anxious to get the book but I can wait. The waiting is just the build up to the finish.

Oh, how frustrating for you. Just hang tough...I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run. You are such a talented quilter, and we know quilters are patient, right? Good luck!

I pre-ordered months ago from Amazon...and they contacted me recently to see if I still wanted it. Of course, I do! I will wait as long as it takes to get your book because I know it will be as amazing as you are! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the update. Yeah, these things happen way too often - sounds like you have the same luck we do on getting caught in such situations! heh. No worries - we will all be happy when it gets here, and understand that this is all entirely out of your hands. Take care! :)

Many businesses both large and small use toll free or 800 phone service to deliver a better customer experience. Although Toll Free Numbers are used more on the sales side for ordering, some businesses, in the interest of better customer support also provide toll free contact for support and warranty issues also.

Amazon sends out a little blurb asking us if we want to keep waiting for your book.

I said yes, so no worries. The publishing industry is always a bit crazy (I majored in Creative Writing and we had classes on what to expect), so hang in there.
