Your fabric may have been manhandled.....

1

The best thing about working from home is having the kids participate in the process. Our youngest has always loved to help his daddy put customer orders in the mail bags. Clint is super patient with him as he hands Clint each package, at least the ones he can pick up. Some of the boxes are a little heavy for this little guy. It seriously is so cute, he knows how to help daddy put packages in bags, but still won't talk. Go figure...

So, I am up to my eyeballs in straight lines, 1/4 inch lines on a 45 degree angle to be exact. Add going around applique and well, that's too much fun, or is it? The hardest part about working on a quilt that takes a long time is the fact that I don't blog as much. But, it feels good to be getting closer to a finished quilt. I will be sure to share the whole quilt when I am done.

Yesterday, when I was quilting, I decided to change the needle on my long arm - the thread was getting cut - and you know when you make a change to your already perfectly timed and tensioned machine, the thread tension starts to be obnoxious.  I hate that!  I had to walk away from quilting and do something else because it can get frustrating trying to fix the tension. These jelly roll strips have been sitting on my sewing table for months and since there's nothing more fun than sewing a bunch of strips together, that's what I did. I plan on making something for me, but quilting it first with some seriously cute custom quilting, I can't wait. It's going into my stash of finished projects ready to be quilted.

Okay, one last thing, we have a great deal on our layer cakes (4 for $25 each) going on right now - be sure to stock up! You can read the details here.

So cute! My nephew didn't talk much til he started preschool. When mom dropped him off for kindergarten orientation one of the teachers said, "boy he talks a lot." Lol The talking will come. ;)

Your children are seriously so cute! I also have an A-1, and dread changing the needle... I SO wish you had a book out, I have so many questions for you... what size needle do you like to use? Don't you seriously love Glide thread? Do you use their pre-wound bobbins? You mentioned something about the speed you run your machine at... do you use the stitch regulator? Hopefully I have given you some ideas for future blog posts. Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks for your generosity in sharing your talented quilting.

Nobody makes straight lines look as good as you do Jude!

No worries Judy, my youngest daughter didn't say one word until she was 2 1/2 years old...true story. After lots of Dr. appt. they found nothing wrong at all. "She's just not ready" was the general consensus. But one day just after her second Christmas, she opened her mouth and started jabbering away in wonderfully correct grammar (go figure), she hasn't stopped since, and she's 41 years old now, LOL. Very cute picture of your little guy helping. Big Hugs...

How rewarding to see them working together - pretty heart-warming!

I once had a neighbor boy child, almost 4 years old, who jabbered nonsense, no words, a lot of sounds, but he had the inflections correct. but amazingly late speech. One day, overnight, he was speaking perfectly - OVERNIGHT!!! Wierd, brilliant kids. He grew up to be brilliant.

This is adorable!! I can picture your little guy trying to heft the 8lb box I bought during your jelly roll sale. My hubby said I probably made him turn purple. I hope not but it was worth it. What great helpers!
