My Baby's first quilt!

My mom surprised me with this super cute quilt! It's for my new baby boy when he arrives. I was so good about making quilts for my daughter (first born) and I even made quilts for my second born, but I didn't make a specific quilt for my third and I am sure that would be the same story with this baby. It's not that I don't want to make a quilt for my kids, its just seems time is never on my side. I am so grateful to my mom for putting this quilt together for my baby, I know he will love it. She called me to ask if I thought that "Micah's Quilt," a pattern of mine would work up fast, I didn't know what she was doing, and I told her I thought so. I love this version of "Micah's Quilt." It's a fun pattern that uses up the fun juvenile prints you have laying around.

This is so cute! What's even better is she used Minki on the back, so it's extra soft. Thanks Mom!

Here's my original quilt - I finally got the sample back, it's been hanging in several Utah quilt shops. It's nice that I was able to finally give the quilt I made for my Micah back to him and he uses it on his bed.

Don't you just love dinosaurs? I do, I love this line, don't know if you can still get it, but so cute.

My mom also sent me 6 receiving blankets with matching burps. So cute. I don't know what I would do without my Mom, she is the best!

Meanwhile, I am getting things done, I will post pictures of some quilting soon. I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. I am only surviving the heat (110 degrees), and pregnancy by frequent early morning trips to the pool.

Aww...what a sweet mom you have! I know that will be a well loved quilt - especially with the Minkee on the back.

What a wonderful mom you have Judi! That quilt is just darling. Sounds like floating in the pool is the best way to survive the heat and the pregnancy!

You certainly are lucky to have the mother that you do....and it shows that you appreciate her as well. Love the quilts.

I think it's the third child thing. My third didn't get his own special blanket either. I feel bad about that. He missed out on much being the third but my fourth child says he's more than had it made up to him now with the packages I send to him on his mission! She says she's going to move away from home for college so that I can send her packages, lol! I told her that it doesn't work that way with college, only missions bz they don't have enough money to buy all that they need! At least not in my son's mission bz food is so expensive there. We send him Macaroni and Cheese, tuna fish, Otter Pops, etc. Anything to make his money stretch farther!

Love the quilt your mom made for you. I love her flying geese with the zebra print on it too. You too both have an eye for what fabric works well together and I learn so much from you! Love it!
