Fun Bright Quilt
I have to admit, I love this quilt! It's so bright and fun. The applique is just perfect. I was nervous at first because I wasn't crazy about my thread color choice, but as soon as I pulled the quilt off the frames I felt better.
Am I the only quilter that gets nervous about a quilt? I had a friend (Emily) tell me "Your job is so fun for us who wait with baited breath for your results." I liked what she said and I am going to try and look at each quilt with a new perspective because I am usually just so nervous about it that I forget to totally enjoy quilting and realize that my customers are excited to get their artwork back.
I tried this new filler, it's just an oval within an oval, I love it!
So, do you have those days where you just have to get out of the house and do what you want and spend a little money on things that you don't need? I had one of those days and my little guy tagged along with me. It's amazing how quiet (not screaming because he is being teased) he is when his older sister isn't around and how it's fun to see his personality shine because we had one-on-one time. We went to Walmart and looked around, we got him a new car and went to subway. I had a chicken bacon ranch sub that wasn't all that good, but he had a tuna sandwich and ate the whole thing, it was even okay that he spilled his chocolate milk everywhere. Just me and him, it was so fun. This picture of him is my most recent one, I couldn't help but take this picture because he was wearing his shake all over his face. Oh, and do you see his bracelet? His Grandma made that for him and he loves it! So cute, he wears it everyday. He doesn't like it when I take it away from him during nap time.

One word: amazing!!!!
He is just too cute.
Love your quilt...it is awesoe....
I think the quilt is quite delicious, it makes me smile just to look at it, and I think your little one is equally delicious, I love them at this age they are honest, funny, cute and it's great that you had some quality time with just him and made him feel special everytime I look at the picture I want to Hug him (after I have wiped his face, of course) treasure your kids they grow so quickly.

Your son is precious...makes me think about when my sons were little. They're grown men now. More than anything, children love their parents giving them TIME; time for play or for the exact thing you did with your son...one on one time. Love the quilt! Is it possible to find out where your customer got the pattern?? I would love to make this, I love brightly colored quilts.

I am crafty and do may things myself and my children are all teenagers now youngest is 13 oldest is 16 and always wish I had the stuff to make such beautiful quilts as yours.I think this one is my favorite so far all the colors and fun designs.
that is just the cutest quilt. I have made the drunkard path patterns with a lot of color in it but never one with that much. It gives me ideas. It is so colorful. Bet it was nice spending the day with your boy- he is so cute.

You absolutely leave me speechless with your quilting, to say it's gorgeous or lovely just doesn't seem to be enough! Perhaps mindblowing?

I do that too. I often have to remind myself to enjoy the process. It must be some perfection thing....time to put that trait on a bus gus!!! Every quilt you have posted looks good to me. When I get the nerve I'm going to post my first free motion quilting....I did it in Houston....it is so funny.

Your quilting is amazing, truly a gift from God! I am really wanting to send you some quilts to quilt for me... I'm just not sure MY quilts are worthy of your quilting!
I love that you got to spend time with your little guy! I did the same with my 7 year old and we also hit walmart and subway... I think its important for them to have that one on one mommy time... and important for us too as someday we may not have that time again!
