First things first! Congratulations to SamathaK for winning my fat quarter bundle giveaway! By the way - thank you so much for the love on my post. You are all the best! I have contacted you Samantha, watch for the email and send me your address. Yay!
Okay, as you know I have a few teaching opportunities happening next year. I will be in Phoenix, Salt Lake, and Canada - I do have another show later in the year that will be announced when it is a little closer. So, I just want to highlight my trip to Canada right now. I will be teaching at a retreat style quilting getaway
April 8-11, 2014 - it is going to be so fun! I will be with the amazing Matt and Bradie Sparrow at Sparrow Studios in Edmonton, Alberta. You have two days with 4 different classes for a total of 16 hours of good times quilting. I am still working on the descriptions for the classes, I know - slacker, but I can tell you that we will cover a lot of what I do now as far as quilting. Tons of tips and ideas and a lot of fun. So, to all my Canadian friends and anyone else who wants to come, I want to see you there! You can sign up for the retreats here. I know there is limited space in each two day retreat so reserve your place now. I can't wait!
And because I can't just do a wordy post, here's a picture that makes my heart sing! Seriously - look at the cover of Kimberly Einmo's newest book.
Does this quilting look familiar? Yep, I quilted this fabulous quilt. I am so excited that it is going on the cover of her new book!! Woohoo!! Cover girl! The quilt is just amazing and I know she has wonderful projects planned for her Modern Quilts & More book. I cannot wait to get my copy, Kimberly does have copies available for preorder in her shop, so check that out here. The book should be coming out around February 2014. Anyway, good times to be had, I couldn't be happier to have some of my work showcased with Kimberly's book. What an honor!

Congratulations to SamanthaK! Lucky girl :) Wonderful that you'll be teaching in Canada and I so wish one of these days I get the opportunity to see you in action ... until then, I'm off to Kim's to preorder your book to drool over :) Thank so much and wonderful work!!
I would love to join such getaway and in Canada notheless!!!
Ironicly I will be in Canada, Salt Lake City AND Phoenix next year, but just too late for all those wonderful things.... Sometimes I'm really sad I live so far away from all those quilters feasts....
When will you come over to the Netherlands and teach here??
Welcome to Canada! Sorry you will be at the opposite end. Love to have you visit Ontario, one of these days! Congrats to SamanthaK!
Yea! How fun! I love your quilting style!
Wow - your quilting on that cover photo is absolutely stunning!
Okay - I think I will have to take your classes in SLC, but I would much rather be at a retreat where you continue from beginning to end, instead of a 4 hour class or an 8 hour class. I want as much as I can get from your classes, but Cananda is just a little far to go from here, I think. But I'm going to look into it for sure!

When I saw your post title I thought "Where in Canada? It's a really big place..." But, really? Edmonton!! That's where I am! :) I hope it works for me to come!
Lucky girl, Suzanne! But Edmonton is only an hour and half flight from me, so I'm putting this one on my radar! Hope I get to see you, Judy, even though I don't currently own a long-arm.
Congratulations on being a cover girl! Youhave deserved it!
Esther
Oooooh Edmonton, that's only 8 hours away from me. I could go, I could go. I'm gonna have to look up some info on that!
I didn't realize you are teaching at HMQS next year--I'm so excited!
Yes I recognize that quilt...and your quilting. Kimberly does fun work and you really make it pop with your quilting.

Dear Judy
It is great, except we are on the otherside of the country, Ottawa.
Maybe next time you can come to our side of the woods. ...We do have Beavertails here, the edible kind, Winterlude (a festival to celebrate winter)....
ask some other professionals about taking finished quilts across Canadian customs...some real sad stories there.
I am only 90 min away and would love to come to your retreat, I am seeing how I can swing it...
So cool!!!!!!!!!!!!
