Join me for my first quilt along!

Flower Patch Quilt Along 1
Hi everyone!  As you can see I am keeping busy!  I just finished one of my personal quilts and sadly I won't be sharing the finished quilt for a while, but in the mean time I have been wanting to make one of my patterns again.  Flower Patch is still one of my favorite patterns, it is so fun to piece!  So, I figured it would be fun to get a group going to see all the fun blocks and quilts that come together.  I have most of my blocks cut out, but since I have to be creative with the time I have to piece - I will take my time putting this quilt together.

Since it is summer, I don't expect that we will make this quilt really fast, but if we can get 1 or 2 blocks done in a week we should be able to get the quilt finished by the end of summer.  This is really a lofty goal for me, but I really want this to be something that I enjoy and set aside enough time to make happen.

Flower Patch Quilt Along 2
This quilt is obviously the original and quilted with an all over quilting pattern.  What I want to do is get through the piecing with you, then I will walk you through several ways to quilt this up. I will be showing this all to you in a tutorial form (the quilting part) - but that will be several weeks from now giving us time to put the quilt together.

Flower Patch
This picture just doesn't give the quilt justice, but it really is so cute!  So - are you in?  I have discounted both the paper and pdf pattern to only $4.95 - a great deal. You can use the scraps from your stash to make this quilt or you can use a layer cake and jelly roll with some additional background fabric.

Flower Patch Quilt Along 3
I'm using Flats by Angela Yosten for Moda Fabrics.  This fabric is adorable!  If you decide you need a layer cake and jelly roll to join in the fun - enter the code word  "quiltalong" to receive $5 off our already discounted sale price.  The code will only work for the combination of the two precuts ;-)

Flower Patch Quilt Along 4
I have 2 flower blocks done, with 15 more to go. So - join my Flickr group or post your progress on Instagram using the hashtag #flowerpatchqal
To all of you who want to share, but aren't comfortable with Flickr or Instagram, send me your pictures to my email  judi (at) greenfairyquilts (dot) com and I will upload them for you!

Should be fun! Please help my first quilt along be a success and tell your quilting friends.  There will be giveaways along the way!

Hi Judi, I'd love to join in but there's a problem. I got charged for shipping (international)although it's a pdf. Should I now pay for the shipping and you'll refund it or couldyou change the checkout and I don't pay for shipping at all?
Thanks for your help, Hildy

I would love to join, but I am assuming this is done using paper piecing? I have never paper pieced before, and I don't know the first thing about how to do it. :o(

Ok, I went ahead and ordered the PDF version of the pattern anyway, and if I'm wrong and it doesn't include paper piecing, then I'm in! This is a GORGEOUS quilt!

This will be a fun summer adventure...I am already dreaming of what colors, fabrics, and who to share this quilt with when it is complete. Thanks for putting this together.
Can't wait to see others too!

Couple of questions? Is the pattern paper piecing or appliqued because I don't know how to do either. As well, how long do we have to get the blocks done? I want to be able to keep up with you and that is so hard when I have 2 little ones at home and work almost full time. Let me know your thoughts. Also do you have a button that I can use on blog so I can post my blocks and then "your button" for the quilt along. It might be some advertising for you as well as give you credit to where it is due. Let me know. Thanks a bunch.

Such a cute quilt. I like the way you designed a flower in such a simple way.
