Romania Charity Video is here......

We want to thank all who donated quilts this year, and also thank you to all who donated money for food.  We were able to purchase and hand out a lot of food thanks to your generosity!  Clint took his Dad this year and just got back a few days ago.  Clint said it was very cold, and heartbreaking to see so many living out on the streets.  Most of the people you see in this video are orphans who have grown up to have kids of their own.  Some orphans are lucky enough to be taken care of until their early teens, but at that time they're unfortunately released to the streets where they have to make it for themselves.  These are the types of people we met on this trip, street orphans who have grown up and started lives of their own.

We did film all the quilts being handed out, but unfortunately it was very dark due to poor living conditions, so much of our video was unusable.  We want to focus our next trip on purchasing and handing out more food to more people, and having extra food to leave with our contact in Romania to hand out long after we leave.  If you'd like to donate to our charity, please visit our charity page here.  100% of your donations go towards this cause.

Here's the video from January 2013 -

Your video just makes me want to cry....makes me grateful for what I do have and grateful to you and Clint for the amazing work you are doing. I do hope you are able to raise more money so they can keep giving out food after you leave. May our Father in Heaven bless you and your family.

What a blessing your mission to Romania is. They have so little, we have so much. Those dear children in the bitter, bitter cold.

This is so touching, what an amazing thing you do.

I'd really like to donate a quilt for one of your next trips, and hopefully several of your next trips!

Judi, I can't stop weeping... I'm so moved and overwhelmed at the beautiful generosity you, Clint and all of those who donate to your charity, year after year. But I weep also because I thought back over my day, to some of the things I was able to go to the store and pick up, just because I wanted them, NOT because I need them. When I go to bed at night, I climb into a bed heated by an electric blanket, I lay there each evening and listen to one of the 64 audio books on my Ipod or I relax by watching a movie on my Samsung Tablet, or maybe just play a few games on my Smartphone until I know I will soon fall asleep. I go to bed knowing that when I get up in the morning, I can have a healthy breakfast and then I can do some housework and get the house I live in, cleaned up and then I can relax and do whatever it is I have planned for the day. If there is nothing in the works for the day, I will spend it in my sewing room, choosing fabrics, making quilts or fun projects, all the while listening again to an audio book, but perhaps it will be on my CD player this day. At the end of my day, with my belly full from a nice meal that my hubby usually cooks, I will take a hot bath, maybe with candles to relax, then I will watch some TV while I sit and stitch on one of my many projects in the works. I can walk to the kitchen and choose a snack if I want...I can turn the heat up if I'm cold, I can do things of my own choosing until once again, I climb into my warm bed and after my prayer time, I may lay there and dream of things I want...a house all on one level so that my weak legs don't have to do the stairs so often to keep my clothes clean. Or I may think of my dream sewing room, filled with shelves of gorgeous fabrics, sewing notions and accessories to choose from, that's what I dream of.
When I sew I forget that have health issues, but I do wonder how my life would be if I was in perfect health. Then I fall asleep and wake the next morning to start all over again. But today my routine changed a bit, because I watched your video. I see families in shacks and utility holes, whose dreams are surely of hope for just the most basic comforts for their children and families. Especially hoping the next meal will come and they will be able to stay warm another night. I can fathom how they feel, but my prayers tonight will be for those families that have so little and ask nothing. My prayers will be about humility and about praise, for multitude of blessing surrounding me. I will also pray for the gift of wisdom to know how best to share my blessing with others, who have so little, ask so little and need so very much. My heart is as wide open as my eyes Judi and I will also be praising our sweet Lord for people like you and your family who actually do share your blessings with those who have practically nothing and only hope to survive one more day at a time. Think how wonderful the world would be if everyone shared just one of their blessings with someone like that. Thank you, from the very depths of my heart, thank you all who participate in these good works. God Bless and keep you...
***I'm looking around my small 'cookie cutter' home of 34 years and suddenly, I realize, that I live in a palace.

Bless you for what you do to help others. I do have a friend that started as you are and through her efforts, over time, an orphanage was built, a library, and a senior citizen center. They found that pairing seniors with no family helped to be near orphans. Still, what you are doing is desperately needed.

I do want to chat with you about plans I have for a Quilter's charity fundraiser this fall, to benefit a number of charity programs. Would love to have your efforts included.

Boy seeing this video does put our "problems" into perspective! Thank you so much for sharing with these poor people, not only the actual quilts and food, but by going there in person and showing love to these needy people. Keep up the good work!

It's so beautiful that you and your husband and others actually DO this wonderful work of charity and kindness. Most of us are happy to just write a check and have no personal contact with those who are helped. This is truly a heavenly mission you do! Thank you for sharing it with us and letting us be part of it too.

God Bless you for being His hands and feet in helping the poor. I would love to be a part of this. I looked into adoption from Romania and saw that it is basically closed to the US. It is so sad. I would love to be able to take them all home and take care of them and love them.

Hi. I just found you. My Tuesday group of ladies told me they loved you so here I am. I would really love to know the history of this effort. Bless you and all those involved! Why Romania? How? I'm from Colombia and we moved to the states when i was a baby because my sister had Polio. Now I live in the Middle East with my Arab husband and two kids. We made tons of Project Linus quilts for children and distributed them to Ireland and I hand carried many to Shriner's Hospital in St. Louis. Thank God Polio has been eradicated from the US so the burn victims (too many) received them. I just remember going as a small child and waiting an eternity for my Mom and sister to be done seeing all her doctors. So, I commend you and all that!
