Quilt News...

front3
Every now and again it is fun to let you know what has happened with the quilts I have quilted.  This was Thelma's quilt and I showed off my quilting here.  Thelma let me know that this quilt received a 3rd place ribbon in the large wall hanging category in the Road to California show.  It is so exciting to have my quilting showcased in a quilt show and even better when it receives a ribbon.  So, congrats to Thelma! I was so thrilled to be a part of this quilt.

And, do your remember Dear Jane?  I remember her!  I think this quilt has made its rounds around the internet.  I am still getting questions about this quilt.  So, here's the latest news and probably the most exciting news I have ever received about a quilt - I'll just let you read the email I received:

Dear Judi,

We are having a 150th birthday Celebration of Jane Stickle's Quilt this
summer at Vermont Quilt Festival. You quilted about the most beautiful Jane I've ever seen,
and I'd love to include it in the exhibit. However, I have no way to get in touch with the maker.
Would you please send me her contact info?

I'd be ever so gratelful!

Thank you!
Brenda Papadakis
Author, Dear Jane

This was such a wonderful email and I feel honored to be a part of the this quilt.  I would like to help Brenda exhibit this quilt, but I can not for the life of me remember Gwen's contact information (it has been 2 years since I quilt this).  So, here's a small plea to Gwen - I hope you read this - please send me your contact info so I can get you in touch with Brenda and let's get your amazing quilt to the 150th birthday Celebration of Jane Stickle's Quilt! Such a huge honor! I am so excited about this!  Gwen, you can email me at judi(at)greenfairyquilts(dot)com - or if any of you know Gwen, tell her to contact me!  Thanks so much!

HI judi, I remeber this quilt ... it took my breath away.... I was just wondering if you couldn't trace Gwen's info from the comment that she left on your blog March 16, 2011, since it is still on your blog? I thought perhaps her comment or if it was an email will lead you back to her. Good luck in contacting her and CONGRATULATIONS on your beautiful quilting on both Thelma's quilt and the DJ...Big hugs...

Judi, I wasn't reading blogs back when you quilted this DJ. I just clicked over to see what you were talking about, WOW! That is one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen. I've seen DJ's before but, the combo of quilt and the quilting you did, just knocked it out of the park!!! It started out very nice, lovely color choices, impeccable piecing and, many hours invested. Without your time spent designing and exquisite quilting expertise, Brenda Papadakis wouldn't be asking to display it at Jane Stickle's 150th birthday celebration. What an honor! I'm so happy for you, you deserve it. ;-> Toni Anne

Hi Judy, I saw your quilt at Road... I was walking by, noticed it, and exclaimed oh, that quilt was quilted by the green fairy! Several people thought I had a mental problem!
It was gorgeous. Kathleen

Thelma's quilt is absolutely divine - I could look at that for hours. It totally deserves every award it gets - it is a wonderful piece of quilting and a credit to both of you.

Hi! Your quilting is beautiful. Do you mark your quilts before or after you load them in to your frame?

This Dear Jane inspired me to want to make one, I got the book, my fabric, the rulers, now to start. I will put aside 20 minutes a day. My inspiration is a jelly roll I bought four years ago. Your quilting is amazing!
