You know when you get an idea in your head and you just have to try it out? Well, this is a result of an idea that I have been mulling around in my head for a while now. So, add this to my works in progress list. I can't wait to see if it turns into what my head can see......that remains to be seen.
Quick change to a different subject.............HAHA!
So, what does it mean if I keep having dreams about my teeth falling out? Seriously - I can't take it anymore. I have had several of these dreams lately - one that ended on a seriously funny note of my teeth getting sewn back in -- What's weird is my teeth ALL fall out - not just one, but all. It's a true nightmare for me, but my dreams have been so crazy lately and the teeth falling out just takes the cake!

oh I used to have this dream ALL the time! They would just all crumble and fall out and I couldn't talk. Now I rarely dream about it. I was probably about your age when it was at it's worst. Will be interesting to see if anyone has an explanation.
I also used to dream I would try to smoke a cigarette and all this loose tobacco would fill my mouth. Really odd because I have never smoked....
But good news, by the time you are 50 they should end :)
So funny...Like you and Terri I used to have this dream all the time too. I was much younger though. Probably more like late teens. I was in my early 20s when I had to get dentures. I am curious to know what it means too. Here is what I found... http://dreammoods.com/cgibin/teethdreams.pl?method=exact&header=dreamid&search=teethintro
My husband has that dream alot, too. I've heard it is because you are stressed. I wonder if you are clenching your teeth while you sleep because of the stress, then, have the dreams. Who knows...
I am well knows for my vivid and prolific dreaming. They often involve guns, fire, explosions and criminals. Recently I had the weirdest dream ever. I shared an apartment with some people I used to work with and at night we would have shared dreams. So I was not only dreaming that I was dreaming but I was in that dream with 2 other people who were also dreaming. Bizarre! I am also frequently in elevators that don't go up and down. The elevators travel in all sorts of directions and even in between buildings. I saw something like that in a Harry Potter movie recently. My husband was disturbed to find out that I dream of sideways elevators! He'd be even more disturbed if he knew what else I dreamed!
I use to have teeth falling out dreams. All of my teeth would just fall out. Weird. Vicki W I'm laughing at you. I hate elevators and frequently have dreams that they go sideways, open from different sides randomly, and you have to run from one to the other because they don't all go to all of the floors.
Wow I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce! Haha aww that is a weird thing to dream about! There are websites online where you can interpret your dreams. Do you need a dentist appointment at all? That my be why you are dreaming it, very weird though! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.com/
ugh! I hate THOSE dreams. They are so realistic and so disturbing! I would dream that mine would start to chip and crack off in my mouth and I would end up with pieces of teeth in my mouth and then they would all start doing it! LOL
Thanks to Quilter in the Gap for posting the link about teeth (here it is linked) - that's some fascinating stuff! I guess I might be able to look forward to some of those in a few years when I hit menopause too!
I used to have recurring dreams about watching planes crash. Apparently it symbolizes a loss of control over things in my life. And truly, when it happens, it's when I'm feeling most stressed about situations over which I have little control.
Dream interpretation can be incredibly helpful. Definitely check out that link that Quilter in the Gap supplied and I put in as clickable above.
Oh my gosh, I've had the same dreams....so in mine, I end up with about one hundred teeth on my mouth, then they all jumble around and fallout! Yuck, and it seems so real that when I wake up, I have to check everything out in the mirror!
Drives me crazy to get an idea...just gotta do it, can't wait to see what you will do.
Sorry about the teeth....that would be scarey...
With all the dental work I have had in my lifetime, that is a dream that I should be having! But I've never had it! Funny that so many people seem to share that same dream! Maybe you grind your teeth in your sleep. My son does that and it sounds like he is chewing rocks. Ick!
I am very intrigued by your gathered jelly roll strips! Now I'm trying to think what I would do with them!

I've always heard that teeth signify new beginnings. Out with the old in with the new!
I have these teeth dreams (nightmares!). They start to get loose, first one and then another and another until I am trying to hold them all in with my hands and my tongue. I have read that teeth represent control, and a dream about loosing teeth is about a fear of losing control. They do seem to happen when I am most overwhelmed, so it may be right!
Wow...I have that dream too! In my dream I first notice a loose tooth with my tongue and then I notice they are all loose. When I go to touch them with my finger they start to fall out.
I dream a lot and they seem to be directly related to books I am reading or movies I have seen. Two nights ago I dreamt Dr. Zhivago dreams all night.
I have had reoccuring dreams about trying to hang on to my dog while riding a rollercoaster. The first few times I dreamt this I held on to her with all my might and she was gone by the time I reached the end of the ride. Then one night I dreamt my whole family and my dog were on the "Pirates of the Carribean" ride at Disneyland and we all held on to her and she was still with us at the end. I haven't had that dream since. I think it was because I am so afraid of losing her and once my dream solved the problem I was OK.Crazy!
Now I am off to check that link...I want to know what the teeth one is all about.
A coworker of mine had a dream book that she brought in because I was having the same dream. In my dream I am clenching my jaw, and my teeth just start breaking into pieces. What her book told me was that "losing teeth signified insecurities", whether it be about life, love, family what ever is going on, one is insecure or uncertain of it.
Good luck to you with your new idea. I can not wait to see what you are making!!
I am intrigued by all those puffing strips! I have made lots of puffing for Christening Gowns, but haven't seen green puffing before! HMMM...
I've had teeth-falling-out dreams too, but the worst ones for me is being naked in a room or at the mall! That would be a nightmare!!
My dreams get crazy like that when I'm pregnant... could it be? ;)
I just want to know what all the ruffles are for! :)
Wow Judy, no teeth left at all huh? Crazy, LOL. I have had nightmares of the scariest nature since I was a very young child, a toddler actually. Even now at 62 years old, I still have them if I'm running a temperature or especially if I sleep on my back. So, by comparison, I would say the teeth falling out would be tame for me, but not the sewing the back in...*shudder*. So, I don't know where the dreams are going, but looking at the new project, I'm pretty sure I know where that is going and if I'm right, it is going to be awesome. Big Hugs...
*note* Be sure you brush your teeth before you go to bed, *wink*...
I've read in a few places now that it's due to stress. As someone else mentioned, probably due to clenching. :)
So do something nice for yourself to relax!!
Jodi, doesn't it feel great from a dream like THAT?? Maybe Your brain sends you a message to wake up and start quilting :) I found it funny when you wrote that once they were sewn back in. :)
If you take any medications, this can trigger weird dreams. I dream every night about being young and with my parents again, our house then..it's like a nice visit since they are in Heaven now. Good luck with your new ideas, I voted for you..you are absolutely a wonderful longarm quilter..
Wow, the whole teeth dream "thing" seemed pretty strange to me until I started reading the rest of the comments. So sorry about all that weirdness. It must be creepy. But on a lighter note I follow a completely different path where I never remember my dreams. :/ Hope you get over those nightmares soon!
Can't wait to see how your gathered project turns out. It almost looks like what has been rattling around in my head that I've been too lazy to follow through with.
Me too! My teeth dreams end up with me gumming a bunch of loose teeth in my mouth and spitting them out one at a time. Freaky... I hope teeth dreams are more along the lines of new beginnings rather than stress and loss of control.
Went to get my dream book ~ it says: teeth symbolize the manner of an individual's speech which reflect their inner personality.
I don't know if that makes any sense with having your teeth fall out, but love that you get them sewn back in. A true sewist!
teeth falling out dream is common for me under stress. It stems from a feeling of not being prepared for something important.
ah...I am so happy to learn I'm not the only one this happens to.
