Holy Crap!!! I've gained 10 lbs!

(this is how I sit now, the arms hide the muffin top)

I am typically not the step on the scale everyday kind of gal - but halfway through my 30th year - I better start thinking about it! My mom always warned me about 30.

Well - I won't bore you with the long sob story of 10 pounds - it happened in four weeks - WOW, that's hard to admit! But, I think I know what the problem is:

Schwan's Ice Cream and Family Visits!

Mix those two things up and I have a whole lot of fun and late night dates with the best ice cream in the world! - Now I just need a dose of motivation to get moving again! It would probably help to not eat so much too!!

Okay - just a proud parent moment! This girl can read, and read well! I was still being tutored in reading during 2nd grade and she's in first grade and reading well beyond her school level! I love ya girl!

Camille's book! I have meant to buy this book since it has come out, but it took me this long to actually order it! I love it! I can not wait to take it (and some Bliss and Ruby) to a little sewing retreat in a couple weeks. I've been holding onto that fabric for a while now, and I am finally going to get to make something for my daughter with it.

1st place baby!!

I don't always find out what happens with the quilts I quilt, but my recent Dragonfly Quilt was in a quilt show in Washington and We Won!! So exciting! Thanks Laura for letting me quilt for you!

I feel like I am always saying this, but I am quilting (just a little slower than normal) and I am catching up on customer quilts - I am so sorry for those that are waiting, but I want them to know that they are on my list and I will get to them asap!

I am getting my next quilt on the racks and I have spent over 3 hours of research today on what types of blocks I am going to quilt into this quilt - it has a civil war theme to it and I can not wait to get started! Seriously - it's going to be awesome!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Judi....you are a lovely girl, and I don't see a muffin top at all! But good for you to notice the 10 lbs. before it becomes 20....or 30....like mine did! Eeek!

Your little Super Scholar is a cutey! What a nice family shot!

And congrats on the 1st place winning of dragonflies....it is a gorgeous quilt....it will win where ever it goes! Yay!

Just wait until 40 comes around! I still can't figure out where those extra 30 pounds have come fromI call them happy pounds (as opposed to being unhappy and stuffing my face pounds).... lol
Way to go on the 1st place - you do such an amazing job!
Sweet family shot too.

congratulations! That quilt is amazing--My non-quilting friend Tina watched the entire video tutorial and then we scrolled through all your posts--we were both in awe!
get rid of that 10 pounds as soon as possible. By 40 you can't even LOOK at ice cream without gaining!

Notice how Camille is sitting there on her book cover? I think that was soon after she had her baby.

You can cross your arms but you can't hide. HA!

Yea, the ice cream will do it, plus standing and quilting for hours. Good luck working those pounds off.

Well if you're going to indulge, ice cream and family is teh way to do it! LOL! I still think you're just cute as a button. Don't worry about what that mean old scale says, gauge it by how you feel. Of course I know that the scale makes me feel sad. LOL! Congratulations on your super student! That's definitely worth celebrating! And your dragonfly quilt is a winner anywhere!

Hi Judi, 10 lbs huh? Well I don't know where your putting it cause I sure can't see it. Of course, I know what your talking about except my battle with the scales didn't start until I I was almost 60. All the same, you are just beautiful, truly. Oh, and your sweet little girl...don't you love it when they LOVE to read? CONGRATULATIONS on your 1st place quilt. I knew when I saw the dragonfly quilt it was a winner. But then, you put all of yourself into every quilt so I suspect there will be many more to come. Hugs...

you appear thin so your 10 pounds will be noticeable to you but not to others I bet because the same thing happens to me. I will complain about the extra pounds and I get laughed at. Add some exercise and you will be back to normal in no time - I have a hard time with ice cream too :)

Congratulations on the quilt and your little reading scholar! Yeah, when I was nearing 40 I discovered I was gaining a pound a month and figured in 10 years I would be twice the person I was at that time. I cut out the popcorn with butter everytime we sat down to watch a movie at home. It worked! Hi, my name is Debbie and I'm a POPCORNAHOLIC...not joking. If I eat one piece that's it. My son and husband use to get a small bowl and I would eat out of the big one, willing to share. They never asked for more...as if I would have bitten their heads off!
My true problem is thyroid related, which corn makes worse...no (actually just very limited) corn in my diet. And absolutely no corn byproducts (starch, corn syrup, flour, etc)
I am so glad your quilting helped someone get a ribbon. I love seeing it. Thanks for sharing ideas and talent.

Put down the Pecan Praline Cone and step away...or Love the muffin top, embrace it, and get a bigger pair of jeans! LOL That's what I did!! All kidding aside! Congrats on the quilt! Those little dragonflies were just amazing! And you should be a VERY proud Mommy!!!

Look out for 40. I was a size 4/6 from the time I was a freshman in high school until I was thirty-nine and a half. Then... I don't know what happened, but suddenly I'm buying size 10 jeans. But hey, I finally got boobs!

Hehe Duff is right - 40 is the real killer. But man!! I know exactly how you felt, as I had the big "TEN POUNDS????!" slammer from a two-week roadtrip this summer.

Most importantly: Congrats to your daughter for her reading award!!

Girl please. I could stand to lose an ENTIRE YOU. Not just 10lbs. You look great. I hate you. :)

Congrats on the quilt win, that is fun!

Congrats on the win! So sorry on the gain.

I have recently come the realization that I am a 44 year old grandmother or two, and I have the body to prove it! You are beautiful, and still young enough to easily lose your weight gain by a simple cut back on calories and increase of motion! Believe me, 30 is nothing like 40 when it comes to weight gain!

Your mom is right, get those 10 pounds off now before you add to them and then it becomes really hard to get it off (from someone who knows).

Congrats on the quilt and the cute reader!!
