A favorite!

Amongst all the hubbub of last week, (thanks for the well wishes, Micah is doing fine) I did manage to get a couple quilts done. This particular quilt is by far my favorite quilt. I had a really hard time giving this one up today. I just love it. I did small pebbling in the main focus blocks and on the edges I did the shadowing. Great effect I think and it did save some time, I normally would pebble all the blocks, but I really like this look

Absolutely LOVE this quilt, I can see why it was hard to give this one back! :) Glad to hear your little one is better, poor little guy...and poor mama! :)

This is amazing!!! I was wondering how long you have been long arm quilting? Did it take you long to get this good? I am just amazed by your talent and wonder if trying to learn to long arm is worth it.
Cheers, Heather

Yep...this by far is my favorite too! I like just a little bit of that pebbling and those big fun funky flowers...perfect for Swanky line of fabric! Great call on this one!!

Your quilting is just beautiful! Are the flowers trapuntoed at all, or did you achieve the effect through the dense background quilting?

I know I must sound like a broken record, but I am just so in awe of your quilting! You work on beautiful quilts to begin with, but your quilting makes them so much more special.

THe quilting is sooo pretty! Are you using a high loft batting to get that puffiness in the flowers or is there some other trick to that??

P.S. I almost forgot that I told you I'd tell you about when I helped sew up my husband's head. Larry had taken a tumble on some ice while he was at work (he's a salesman) and had a big gash above his eyebrow. While we were at the ER they were really, really busy. The doctor couldn't find a nurse to help him and I had already told him that I had trained as an medical assistant umpteen million years ago (I never worked as an one though but went on to do medical transcription instead) so he asked me to help him. I actually enjoyed it and Larry was surprised that I wasn't grossed out at all! It definitely was an adventure but I don't think I could do it on one of my kids. It's too heartbreaking when they hurt, lol!

Your quilts really inspire me. I do a lot of utility quilting for customers, but when they ask for something special, I always think of your work.
