The Layers of Love project winner is.....

Here's a quilt I have been working on this week. It was a simpler quilting design for me, but I think it worked with this quilt because there is so much piecing in the quilt that I didn't want to take away from the beauty of it.


I loved quilting the flowers in this quilt.

This was a fun project, Heather of Superior Threads asked me to quilt some silk for a jacket she is going to have made for her. I was a little nervous, but she told me to quilt it however I wanted, so that made the decision really easy for me. Plus she gives me awesome thread to try out, this time it was metallic thread. The thread is amazing, it highlights the shine of the fabric.


This is a shot with part of what the silk looked like before I quilted it. If you are wondering, this quilting was all free-hand motion on my A-1 long-arm.


Believe it or not, this is the back. This is one of those times where I thought the back was just as pretty as the front.

  1. WOWEEEE to that quilting on the silk and FREEHAND at that?? WOAH! Beautiful! The quilt you did looks like a LOT of work to piece and then quilt. Very nice.
