Boys!!!!

I love my boys, I think they are fun and wonderful. When I get all ready for church or the day (could be that it's rare that I am getting ready) Micah tells me "Mom, you yut pretty and I wuv you!" He is so sweet, a little out spoken and totally loud, but I wouldn't trade him for anything.

Jonah is a sweet and wonderful chubby kid, he makes me smile when he walks in the room. He has found his four fingers and loves to suck on them, I am guessing he's getting some molars. So, I have a little girl and two boys, when I found out I was pregnant I was sure I was having a girl. That way our family would be complete and it would be evened out with two boys and two girls. I happened to open my big fat mouth and say that if this kid was a boy, then we would have to try for a girl later. Well, I should have just kept quiet because it looks like we have another little boy on the way.

Meet baby number 4 boy number 3! Looks like God has a different plan for me and Clint, but we are happy and can't wait to meet this little guy in November. We will have 4 kids 5 and under, and 3 boys 3 and under - I must be insane, but it's okay because Clint and I have always wanted our kids to be close in age. We just look forward to the day when the screaming and diaper changing is done, but we love each day we have with these kids and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Side note - we got our "Fruitcake," "Lumiere de Noel" and "Christmas Magic" pre-cuts in, so go check them out!

Awesome Giveaway!!!!!!

So - since I am totally lame and missed my 200th post (big deal right?) I have decided that I will use my 205th post for a fabulous or "Awesome" giveaway. What's up for grabs? Well, a layer cake, jelly roll, charm pack and my pattern "Flower Patch." All four things will go to a lucky winner. I do have a couple requests though, since I feel I am giving something so totally "Awesome" - love the play on the name - Did I mention the fabric line is "Awesome" by Sandy Gervais? - one of my favorite Moda designers.

So, here's the deal!

Go to our "See What's Coming Soon" page and tell me what product you can't wait to get your hands on.

Next - go anywhere on my website and tell me what you love that you can get now in my available inventory.

So - two answers and you are entered into my giveaway. Simple as that. But, if you want more entries, like five - blog, facebook, twitter etc... about my giveaway (be sure to tell me you did because I hate to count) and you will get more entries. Oh, and follow me because I love followers!

Good luck, you have until Thursday night when I announce the winner.

Paula's Quilt

I had a great time with Paula's wall hanging. She did an excellent job piecing this quilt and it was easy to work with. I did a lot of feathering and stitch in the ditch for this quilt. I used two different threads, a maroon -ish for the dark fabric and a tan for the background colors. I think it turned out great.

I think the back turned out great too!

Jane's Quilt

Jane from New York contacted me to do her quilt. She wanted something simple, but fun. This is what I came up with. I hope she likes it!

There was a lot of piecing in this quilt with a ton of star blocks. It worked out so pretty and her quilt was really square so it helped make the quilting design flow. I was able to go from one side of the quilt to the other without stopping, which saves a huge amount of time.

She did request that the borders look 3-D and I think with the simple straight stitching that request was fulfilled.

And - the back was amazing! I love it when you have a back that shows off the quilting in the quilt. Also, she had a one piece backing, which I prefer because then you don't have any issues with stretching the pieced seams - it just works out nicer in my opinion.

If you are wondering, I just used my straight edge ruler for the straight seams and stitch in the ditch, then everything else was free motion quilting. I love how this one turned out!

Sherri's little quilt...

This was a super fun quilt! I loved every minute of this one. It's nice sometimes to get the small quilts or wall hangings because they work up a lot faster compared to the big quilts I am usually quilting. This one was pieced and appliqued by Sherri. I am sorry I don't know the name of the pattern, but it is beautiful and Sherri did a beautiful job.

Sherri requested swirls, and I love swirls so that was a no brainer for me.

And, I can't get enough of my flower echo border, it fit this quilt perfectly.

Oh, and funny thing - Lili (my 5 year old) looked at me the other day and said "Mom, your belly is getting longer!" Then she proceeded to point it out by showing me by measuring with her hands. You just got to love kids, they just say what they are thinking!

Will work or slave for fabric..............

Okay- So I mistakenly erased a super cute picture of my niece Brooke, but I have this one of her holding her prize for being my nanny (slave) for a day and a half. My mom and my sister with her five kids came over last week and stayed for a couple of days, we had a blast! My niece Brooke stayed longer and she was a great help. She watched the kids while I got a few things done, she even babysat for us while Clint and I went on a date. It was great!
For payment she just wanted fabric - that's my kind of girl! She also helped me sew on my Turtle Walk quilt that I am giving away to my soon (very soon) to be born nephew. I don't know if she had fun sewing with me breathing down her neck saying "1/4 inch and stay focused" the whole time. But she did awesome. She sews very well for a 13 year old and anyone that can put up with me and sewing (I am a bit of a control freak, or perfectionist - yeah that sounds better) than she will be an awesome piecer and quilter as she keeps going. Thanks Brooke! It was fun!

This is quilt made from the green, white, and brown fabric I told you about. I think it turned out perfectly. I absolutely love it! I keep looking at it. I tell you - there is nothing more fun than piecing and quilting a quilt. Especially when it's going to a brand new baby. I love it!

I have to thank my sister Jen for drawing up the turtle block, this is one of my favorite patterns. It's hard to find boy patterns sometimes and this one is great, especially with it done in the green and brown fabric.

Here's the back - I had an extra turtle block and I just couldn't help myself. I think the back is just as cute as the front! I think I will have to piece all of the backs of my quilts now.

You can get the Turtle Walk pattern here. We also got some new Moda pre-cuts in like "Salt Box Harvest" by Deb Strain and "Awesome" by Sandy Gervais. Don't forget to check out our "Deal of the Week."

One of my new patterns..................

Jina of Riley Blake asked me to put together a quilt using their new line "Felicity" and I was more than happy to do that. So, I made an appearance at Quilt Market without having to actually be there. I had a lot of fun with this pattern.

My new pattern is called "My bags are packed." It's available now on my website here and you will love making this one. I had so much fun with it. It can easily be made with fat quarters or some yardage or scraps you have around the house. This quilt is my new favorite. So glad I can finally show you the quilt I worked on frantically for a week.
