I am pretty proud of this one.............

This is an original quilt design by Pam White of The Casual Quilter. It is a beautiful quilt and I was lucky enough to be the one to quilt it.

A lot of work went into this quilt, I even showed you how to make feather circles in this video tutorial.

Clint's closeup! He takes great pictures!

Check out the center focus of this quilt. Perfect design for a quilt. Way to go Pam!

Closeup, it was fun to play with the center. I stood in front of the quilt machine just trying to figure out what to do in the center, then I just started quilting and this is what I ended up with. I love it!

Here's the back. Love it!

I really enjoyed this quilt, but it was fun to finally pull it off the frames. It took me around 20-24 hours to quilt this and it's nice to have it done.

Quilting Feather Circle Video

So, here is a quilting video for you! I didn't smile once, but really it was just because of nerves! I hope this is helpful as you make your feather circles! Let me know what you think!

Okay- I used a blue water pen on this customer quilt. I haven't had any trouble with the pens, I have always been able to get the blue pen out, even if I have had to spray twice and rub it with a clean cloth. Just wanted to make that clear.

Ode to Emily!

Emily had me do a small Muertos for her and this little quilt was just the perfect size and it was so fun to quilt. I used a bright thread on this one to show against the black in the quilt.

Here's the back, you can see that a lot of quilting went into this small quilt.

I just absolutely loved these triangles and the quilting was too fun!

I love this quilt of Emily's! Funny story goes with this one. I was all in a worry about my thread choice, to the point of tears! It turned out fine, but I just thought a slightly golder thread would have worked better. So, when I was out Emily popped in to drop off another quilt and Clint talked to her about my anxiety over a quilt I was doing. He went in to check out the quilt and see if it was hers and he told her it wasn't. So, later last night Emily came to pick up her quilt and we had a laugh that Clint didn't think it was her quilt because it looked a little more traditional than her normal quilts and had a laugh that I was all in a worry over her quilt. She liked it, at least she told me she did! :)

The quilting on this quilt was a little more traditional too, a new thing to do with Emily's quilt.

I love how the quilting turned out above the baskets.

I did my circle in a circle for the inner border and it really worked with the fabric print. The feather in the outside border just finished the quilt so nicely.

Some quilting pictures - and a free Charm Pack!!

Okay, first things first - we are giving away a "Sent with Love" charm pack with any order of $10 or more on our website. Hurry fast because this is only good through the weekend. Be sure to mention you want the free charm pack during checkout in the "any additional info" box!

Sherri from A Quilting Life commissioned me to quilt this row quilt. This was a really fun quilt.

I love feathers as you know! It's so fun to go around a corner, if you haven't tried feathers yet, I totally recommend them because they are the funnest part in quilting! They just look so pretty!

Here's a closeup of the fence row, I loved how I showed the wood grain, it wasn't until after I finished quilting it that I thought maybe that doesn't work because the fence isn't wood color. Oh well, I really like it anyway.

Sherri told me that she didn't want too much tight quilting, so I hope I found the balance in this quilt. I really struggle with not quilting everything.

Love the baskets!

Here's another attempt at not quilting too much. I think the quilting worked well with this row.

I absolutely loved the plant pot! I think it turned out just right.

There was bigger background space in this row, so I opted for a feather design.

The flying geese were really fun too. I used three different thread colors on this quilt: cream, gold and purple, so there was a lot of time involved in this quilt. I sure hope Sherri likes it! I still get nervous with every single quilt I do. I guess it's just an occupational hazard! Or, I am just a nervous wreck, ya - that's it! :)

Down and Out!! And some new products.

I haven't gotten too much done the past week because I have been sick. Aggh! Nasty old cold with the fever, aches and shakes! Luckily for me I have the best husband because Thursday morning last week I just couldn't get out of bed and facing a day with three rambunctious kids sounded quite scary. So without me asking, he got up and fed the kids breakfast, lunch and dinner; changed every diaper that day and got me everything I needed. What a man I have! Thanks Clint for making my life easier.
I was sure that I would feel better by now, but now the aches and shakes have turned into a terrible cough! I finally got back to the long-arm tonight, it's been staring at me since Wednesday reminding me of all the quilts backed up, but hopefully each day can get a little easier. Oh, and sorry for the lack of quilting pictures, I will have some soon.

On a happy note we got in some darling new Moda pre-cuts. I really want to make something out of everything we get in, but where is the time? I will leave that to you, so go and check out Botany, Cherish Nature, Martinique, and Hunky Dory, we have them in Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Charm Packs.

Question and Answer!

I had this crazy idea that popped in my head, that happens sometimes and I thought it would be fun to have a Q & A thing going on. I want to have an about me Q & A on my blog, but sometimes coming up with everything to say is a bit hard. So, I need help! Please ask me a question, (by leaving a comment) anything you can think of that you would like to know about me, the business etc.. and I will answer it in my next post. I have had a lot of questions asked, and I confess I haven't been the best at writing everyone back, so it would be great to answer all your questions during one post. I really think it would be fun, so I hope you leave a question because I really want to answer! That means you too Kathy! :) You know who you are!
