Another quilt done!

I had a fun time quilting this quilt. I figured out the scallop border before I started quilting and then stenciled in the feather circle, then quilted around it. I think the baskets in the corners give the quilt a nice finishing touch.

Barb over at Bejeweled Quilts by Barb gave me the Kreativ Blogger Award! Thanks so much Barb! I will do my best to follow the rules and nominate other bloggers, but first I am going to come up with 7 things that you may not know about me and are somewhat interesting!

1. I have 5 brothers and 5 sisters! Bet you didn't know that!

2. I was Region Champion for 2 years in a row and 3rd in State for the 100 meter dash in High School Track. (It's been useful being fast watching my little kids!)

3. I have been to Dracula's castle in Transylvania, Romania. (I am going again in September)

4. I married my High School Sweetheart! Best decision I have ever made!

5. I think milk is the best beverage and I can drink a full gallon, (by myself) in a day.

6. I once held a chicken while it was being be-headed! (I am sure there are better stories than that out there, but it was pretty traumatic for me as a ten year old, I don't think I can ever forgive my brother for making me do that.)

7. Whenever I sneeze, I sneeze at least six or seven times in a row. My record is eight, believe me I know because Clint counts on his fingers whenever I start sneezing - he says I sound like a rabbit - but I have never heard a rabbit sneeze before.

Hope you enjoyed that! Only two more posts to go! Can't wait to show you what I have been working on and I bet you can't wait to see what I am giving away! Take care!

Oh, and all you who told me to "sell my mouse pads," you can get them "here!" Make sure you get them while they are still available!

Ramblings of a tired wife/mom/quilter

I had so many plans, so many goals set and then life happens. I have spent the greater part of two days getting my car fixed. A simple $174.00 a/c problems magically turns into a $703.00 a/c fan problem! Don't you just love mechanics? I then tried to blame the car problems on the fact that Clint doesn't know anything about cars and how he should of taken the auto shop class in high school, that was a stretch and it didn't work out. But at least now I can drive around in the hot weather with the a/c on and the windows up.

I have one quilt done, and another one on the machine. The kids are bathed and in bed and I have one quilt pieced and my surprise project near completion (sorta). So, with all the craziness in life I have managed to get a few things done. Wish me luck getting three quilts machine quilted before Saturday night, I don't know how realistic that is, but I will try!

Sorry I don't have pictures for this post! I will make up for it in my other posts and only three more posts until my 100th post giveaway! I can't wait! Have a great night or day!

(did I just say "post" four times in one sentence?) it's late and I am tired!

Sneak Peek of things to come........

I have some blocks and strips all waiting to be put together. Could this have something to do with a new pattern and a giveaway? Ummmm maybe, stay tuned.! Oh, it's obvious I am using a jelly roll, I think I know where to get cute jelly rolls at a great price, Green Fairy Quilts! Check them out at our new low price.

I took my little girl to the fabric store today to get a new project, not like I don't have plenty of fabric, and projects right? Well, to spice life up you have to have projects lined up. And these fabrics just spoke to me, they are all Moda, but not from the same line and I can't wait to show you the finished project.
Don't worry ladies, these projects will not detract from your quilts! I got four customer quilts done this week and will get that many done next week, crossing my fingers now :)

I love these fabrics, my little girl noticed these cute lady bugs and told me how much she wanted them, I couldn't resist. So, I am thinking a fun tutorial for a fast project on these, maybe next week? Do you think I am putting too much on myself? Naaa, it keeps me sane, or insane depending on who you ask. (Don't ask Clint! :)

Just for fun, are you a Mom? I never understood why my mom was so bothered when I begged for food off her plate, now I know why. I can't sit down and eat food without the vultures coming to beg, and no matter what food it is, it's always better when Mom wants to sit down to eat.

(I know, the onesie is too big for my little guy, but it's Saturday and I don't care what the kids wear on Saturday.)

Have a great weekend!

Holy cow! I need to just tell you, one of my patterns will be in Quilter's World at some future time, I will fill in the details when the time is closer, I am so excited because it will be my first magazine appearance.

Time for some easier quilting!

I have been doing a lot of custom quilts lately, and I love it, but was thrilled when I got a quilt that wanted my basic swirl. I love this allover pattern. Mind you, it's all free hand so it isn't perfect.

This quilt was pieced by a Man! I love it, he did an awesome job.
It's so great when men get into piecing. It is too fun.

So here is my flower swirl. I love this one too, I am sure I have shown this one before, but the colors in the quilt are so fun.

Same quilt, but closeup and the colors don't look the same, but I wanted you to see how great the stitches are that my A-1 long-arm produces. I am a little prejudice because I think it's the best long-arm out there. I am so lucky to have one of my own.

Here's a little tip for you long-arm quilters, I can't claim this tip as my own, but I will share it with you because it is a cheap way to make quilting so much easier.
Take a dowel and put it under your clamp straps along the quilting poles and when you quilt along the edge of your quilts, you won't hit the clamp!

Thank you Jen from "QuiltTopStop" for that amazing tip.

Bikini Quilt! You have to see this one...........

I got a request to put bikini's and palm trees in this quilt. It was really fun. I love how it turned out. It took me all week last week, but I did manage to sneak in one more quilt on Saturday as well. Anyway, here you go.

This is the back of the quilt. I almost love it more! I couldn't just show a couple photo's of this quilt. There is just too much to see.

Luckily I was able to meet the lady who gave me this quilt to quilt. I don't meet all my customers because they drop off their quilts at Scrap Apple Quilts here in St. George. Anyway, her name is Emily Douglas and she is so darling, and she loved the quilting, Phew!!! I always get nervous about whether or not the customer will like their quilt.

Keep on coming back because I am planning something big for my 100th post! Coming very soon. Have a great day!

Just having fun!!!!

So, this is what I do when I am not quilting. I have to get rid of some of my anxiety somehow!
(Yes, I'm an anxious person, too many boring details to get into that!)

Home office update!

So, here is our updated office. Clint worked hard putting the desks together. We got the black desk for Clint and the white one for me. They may not match completely, (at all) but we are so happy with our new space. It's in our bedroom as you can tell, the quilting machine is in here too. So, now you know that we don't really have a bedroom, but we make it work. One day we will have a home office, and a grand quilt studio for me. Clint surprised me with a new monitor and the promise of EQ6 soon. I say, what's another $150? I want it now. I love spending money, it's the earning part that isn't as much fun. (So make it easier for me, and go buy something off my website please???!!!!)

Do you like my mouse pad? Actually, Clint has claimed it, but I will get it one day!

Time to organize.

If you know me, I am not really organized when it comes to things around the house. I have piles everywhere. Clint is patient with me and tries to put things where they belong, but then I can't ever find anything. Well, it has come to a point now, where I have to be organized. I had all my customer quilts in a pile and I was starting to forget which ones were here first and how long I have had each one, so last night I made room in my closet and labeled each quilt and hung them up. Don't they look nice!

Clint even bought me a rack for my shoes, I don't have a ton of shoes in women standards, but the pile on the floor was annoying. Now they hang so grand-like in my closet. Don't you love fun little inventions that make life so much more liveable.

This is my computer and it has had its day! Since 2002 our little computer has been through a lot, but it is time to say good bye to the very slow computer and move on to better things. We bought a new computer last night and Clint is working on getting that set up.
We won't say totally goodbye to this computer until files are moved over and someone buys me EQ6, wonder who's going to do that?

But check out this desk. It's so much better than our card table and it's going to be mine. Clint's working on his desk which will be much more masculine than mine. I can't wait, now we can work together side by side without getting in each others way. By the way, we got this new desk for only $37.00 on clearance! Holy cow!

I can't leave a post without some quilting. So here you go, one of my recent customer quilts, I had fun with the leaf in this one.

And I am working on my feathers, they are getting better. One day I think I will have them mastered, but look how fun the back of this quilt is with the minkee fabric. Love it!

Last, but not least my little baby Jonah, I am happy and sad because he is growing and I am starting to wean him. I am proud that I have nursed him so long because my other two kids stopped at 6 and 7 months. So while I am crying that he is growing, I am smiling that I am moving into a new phase. I love this kid! He loves to climb under my quilting table and then crawls up to my legs and holds on while I am quilting.

Well, have a great night. We will be doing a giveaway soon, so stayed tune. (You won't want to miss this one!)
