Video Tutorial

Okay, I had a little too much fun putting this video together. It is around 6 minutes, so hunker down and plan for that. By the end of the video you will either be dancing or thinking I am the biggest dork - either way I had fun putting this together. I hope you like it!

  1. You trying to compose yourself was too funny! Ha! The music was perfect for the speedy section, too! Awesome video.....and I loved seeing you work your way out of the tunnel. That's always a trick for me on my domestic machine, and I usually get a pucker!...Ugh!...so I try really hard not to make a tunnel! Awesome video! And was it nap time....where were the kids!?! :o)

  15. Thanks for the video clip you are a real treat to watch!! You somehow manage to combine awesome talent with down-to-earth sweet humility. You make me want to walk away from the computer and have a try myself!I'm glad that you had fun and I hope that you'll make more. I do have a suggestion, perhaps next time you could use a contrasting thread, that way it would be easier to see the stitching.Thanks for being such an inspiration!

  24. A couple of things that might have been helpful...1) Draw out the design on a whiteboard so we can see the various elements of the design and 2) Use a contrasting thread on a practice piece so we can see it on the fabric a bit better. WONDERFUL design. I think I would like to use it in the border of a quilt I'm quilting for a customer right now.

  29. I really love your quilting style and very much appreciate it that you share your talent with us. I agree-a video on Craftsy would be great! Just a helpful hint for the next video-I think it would most helpful if the person filming would hold the camera steady while focusing on the quilting continuously instead of moving around. Also, a contrasting colored thread would show up better too. I really want to try your pretty design on a quilt soon! Thank you!

  33. Hi Judi,

    I'll check the video later but I've got a couple of questions for you ...

    First of all, which type of machine do you use? I don't think that you can do free motion quilting with a "simple" machine.

    Second, are these patterns something you invent/that come from inspiration or is it a combination of quilting patterns on your machine or ...?

    Just being curious/nosy ;-).

    Have a nice day!
    Ann

    P.S.: I like your last posts (the bag you made, snuggles with children that grow up way too soon - mine are 6 and 4), etc.

  34. You made it look easy AND fun -- I'm still not sure I could do this after hours of practicing -- thanks for the video -- it helped !}

  38. Oh how FUNNY! Thanks for sharing this. Your feather swirls are one of my favorite fills. The only thing I had trouble figuring out from the video was the scale -- I'd love to see a ruler or a quarter on this design to help me understand how big the swirls are and how far apart the quilting lines are. Love the bloopers at the end, too!

  39. I really enjoyed your video and I enjoy your customer quilts. I'm looking forward to trying your swirled feathers.

  40. I don' t know what was more fun... just watching the video or watching my cat watch the video... he stared at it intently throughout the whole video. Great job - thanks for posting!!
