My husband bought me a bike in September, s...Ouch! My husband bought me a bike in September, same kind of thing, I hadn't been exercising and was complaining that all my clothes had shrunk... smirk... I had a great time the first day on the bike, but the second time out we went to a greenway that has dirt trails and wooden bridges over swampy areas, very pretty with trees and wildflowers and deer. But there are these poles right in the middle of the path at the beginning of the bridges, I guess to prevent cars from trying to drive on them, and I came around a sharp corner and clipped the stupid pole. I did NOT land on my cushy butt, instead I scraped all the skin off my right forearm, elbow, knee and shin. And then my arm got infected, which was gross... But I got back on the bike as soon as I could. It's not even so much about the pounds you lose -- I just feel SO MUCH BETTER about EVERYTHING after I go for a bike ride through the woods.<br /><br />Good luck with your bruises as well as your goals for the new year. How could you possibly quilt any better? Maybe you could go twice as fast? Your quilts are stunning. I am a very simple quilter and am quite happy to do what I do. No one else in my family can quilt so to them what I do is just fabulous. I will never enter a quilt show. <br /><br />I, too, need to eat better. New studies show that sugar is just as bad for our hearts as alcohol. Chocolate always has sugar in it. So sad, but true. <br /><br />I need to exercise more than once a week. As for exercise, sometimes it is tough to fit in, but you just have to carve out that time for yourself. For me, it's a habit really early in the morning, when I can't talk myself out of it or other demands push it aside. You will be so glad you did. Can't tell you how many people we see in the E.R. with a wrist fracture from a fall on an outstretched hand. I hope you are applying heat at this point to help the tissue absorb that injury.<br />I love roller blades too.<br />We just got a cool Nordic track treadmill. I am psyched about it as my hubbs works at home and we spend the entire day on the main level of our home. So the treadmill is right there in front of the tv, just steps away from my sewing room/ kitchen.<br />Scripture is a good thing.
