I have never entered any of my own quilts into an AQS Quiltweek competition before now. I decided that since I will be in Paducah already that I might as well try it out, what would it hurt? I wanted to go with my Just Call Me Modern quilt. It's one of my favorite quilts that I have designed. So I was really happy when I received an email saying that my quilt was accepted to be judged for the competition.
The quilting was really fun on this quilt, it took a long time - but in the end it was worth it.
I also received an email from Thelma telling me that Coastal Lily made it in too.
Here's hoping that one or both get a ribbon! If they don't, then I will just consider it an honor to have them hanging in Paducah.
Your quilts should be in Paducah! They are amazing.

Congratulations on your first entered quilt. Pretty sure it will get some ribbons!
ReplyDeleteWow! Wow! Wow! You are such a fantastic quilter and I love the way, you made it. Which kind of batting did you use, so the quilting stands out so nicely? It really inspires me for my next top. I hope I can start quilting at the weekend and I catched first ideas by your book.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Rike

ReplyDeleteJudi, Congratulations on having not one, but two, quilts accepted to Paducah. What an honor! At Paducah last year, I saw one of the quilts you quilted. I was so proud to tell my friends that you were the quilter. It was like I REALLY knew you. Fingers and toes crossed for ribbons coming home with your quilts. Getting into the show is a win as far as I'm concerned!!!
ReplyDeleteI am happy for you! And for me since I will get to see your works of art up close. I will keep my mouth shut and make sure no drool hits either!!!!
