Jane's Quilt

Jane from New York contacted me to do her quilt. She wanted something simple, but fun. This is what I came up with. I hope she likes it!

There was a lot of piecing in this quilt with a ton of star blocks. It worked out so pretty and her quilt was really square so it helped make the quilting design flow. I was able to go from one side of the quilt to the other without stopping, which saves a huge amount of time.

She did request that the borders look 3-D and I think with the simple straight stitching that request was fulfilled.

And - the back was amazing! I love it when you have a back that shows off the quilting in the quilt. Also, she had a one piece backing, which I prefer because then you don't have any issues with stretching the pieced seams - it just works out nicer in my opinion.

If you are wondering, I just used my straight edge ruler for the straight seams and stitch in the ditch, then everything else was free motion quilting. I love how this one turned out!

very pretty! What type of batting did you use? and what type do you prefer to use? Your quilting always shows up so nicely in your photographs!

Your quilting is absolutely amazing.
The quilt back could also be used as whole cloth quilt.

I agree that she now has 2 quilts in 1. She could flip it over for a whole new look :)
