Ode to Emily!

Emily had me do a small Muertos for her and this little quilt was just the perfect size and it was so fun to quilt. I used a bright thread on this one to show against the black in the quilt.

Here's the back, you can see that a lot of quilting went into this small quilt.

I just absolutely loved these triangles and the quilting was too fun!

I love this quilt of Emily's! Funny story goes with this one. I was all in a worry about my thread choice, to the point of tears! It turned out fine, but I just thought a slightly golder thread would have worked better. So, when I was out Emily popped in to drop off another quilt and Clint talked to her about my anxiety over a quilt I was doing. He went in to check out the quilt and see if it was hers and he told her it wasn't. So, later last night Emily came to pick up her quilt and we had a laugh that Clint didn't think it was her quilt because it looked a little more traditional than her normal quilts and had a laugh that I was all in a worry over her quilt. She liked it, at least she told me she did! :)

The quilting on this quilt was a little more traditional too, a new thing to do with Emily's quilt.

I love how the quilting turned out above the baskets.

I did my circle in a circle for the inner border and it really worked with the fabric print. The feather in the outside border just finished the quilt so nicely.

Ha ha... I understand Clint's thinking. Emily sent me a picture of the basket quilt and I didn't know it was hers either.

The quilting is awesome! It really pops out the designs in the quilt.

Awesome quilting! On all the quilts you do! Such a pity you live over the pond :-(.

And chapeau to Emily - love her work, too. Not surprising the basket quilt was not immediately attributed to her, but it just shows how many faceted her work can be.

Judi the quilting looks fabulous! The detail on the back was awesome. I can see why Clint didn't think that was her quilt.

Emily is so lucky to have you as her quilter! I love her quilts and I love your quilting - a perfect combination! Between your two talents, there is so much to see in those quilts. I'm sure they are even more stunning in person.

Beautiful quilting. How are you taking pictures that showcase the quilting? Special lighting? Professional photographer?? I am guessing that you take your own pictures and do a great job. I just need to figure out how to showcase! Thanks!

Well you shouldn't have stressed about it as you are an artisan and always come up with the right patterns for all the quilts that you do.
This one sure is a beauty though isn't it?
